How to write a book?

 1st Step – Content Creation:

The most important step is to create a great content for your book which attracts many readers. Decide on number of words to be covered in the book after selecting a topic to write on. Then classify the main topic (book topic) into various sub-topics – chapters so that the number of chapters to be covered in the book is planned. Depending upon the writing speed (number of words per day) set a goal that is the date of finishing book. Say you are planning to write a 50000 words book and your writing speed is 500 words a day then it would need 100 days to finish writing the book. (This is just a rough below average calculation because I wrote this 437 words blog in 30 minutes itself.)

2nd Step – Hints:

Get the content for each and every topic one by one and note down in hints format or “mind mapping” format which can be later developed into an essay format. This step is crucial in the sense you are not wasting time to frame sentences when you are creating your content. The content could be the ideas born after reading various other articles, blogs, and books and so on and/or life experiences (non-fiction) or the story which comes out of your imagination (fiction). In both of these the content should be free flowing hence this method is crucial.

3rd Step – First draft:

Develop the hints now into full sentences but no to worry about grammer or spelling misstkaes and so on. The first draft should be free flowing from the creative brain without any intervention from analytical part of your brain. Hence it is okay to make mistakes as much as possible in this draft.

4th Step – 2nd Draft:

Now go through the first draft with 80% analytical brain and 20% creative one. Correct the mistakes as much as possible at the same time if new ideas come up add them too in the book. When you go through second time most probably new ideas will prop up and hence be little opened up when you penning down your second draft.

5th Step – Final Draft:

Go through the entire 2nd draft with a publisher mind-set. If you are the publisher who is going to decide whether a book is worthy enough to be published then you will be reading the book in a completely different way. Correct all the mistakes without leaving any. There is no room for any creativity in this step. Scrutinize, fix, and correct each and every small, medium and big mistakes whatever. The final draft and hence the book is ready!
